Plumbing Video Inspection Cameras Can Identify Causes of Drain Clogs

If you’ve noticed a slow drain or even a clog in your plumbing, your plumber may recommend a plumbing video camera inspection to help identify the cause. It can be anywhere from the drain to the sewer line.

Plumbing video camera inspections can also be helpful in older homes, to check and see if the plumbing is still free of corrosion and cracks that can cause leaks and other problems.

What Does a Plumbing Video Camera Look Like?

A video camera for your plumbing is just a lens and light on the end of a long, stiff cable. It’s flexible enough to follow the bends and turns in your plumbing system. The cable is normally collected in a coil, similar to the one you have for a garden hose, so that it can be transported around. There is also a small monitor connected to the system so that you can see what’s going on.

Sometimes, your plumber can give you a copy of the plumbing video to keep. This can be useful when selling your home.

They are great tools for finding out what’s really going on inside your plumbing, but they do have their limitations. For example, if your pipes are filled with mucky water, they won’t be able to see the problem.

Types of Problems a Video Camera Can Find

Video cameras a great for identifying problems with your home’s plumbing. These can include:
1. Hair, especially below a shower drain.
2. Fats and oils trapped in the line below the kitchen sink.
3. Unflushables that have gone down the toilet, including paper towels, feminine hygiene products and even toys if there are tiny children in the house.

Plumbing video is also great for finding clogs in the mainline from your home to the city sewer. Typical problems include:

1. Tree roots that have grown into your sewer line.
2. Sewer lines that have become corroded from the inside.
3. Joints that have become disconnected.
4. Sewer lines that have become crushed.

Once your plumber has identified the issue, they can recommend some options to fix them.
Once your plumbing is over 40 years old, we recommend periodic plumbing camera inspections to ensure there are no problems developing. After all, it’s much less expensive to do preventive inspections than to repair damage to your home from leaking pipes.

Our Plumbing Services

Some past clients we’ve had the opportunity to work for:

There are several plumbers out there. Many have experience. So why choose us over everyone else? Here are a few reasons:

check  No Hourly Charges – Many customers do not see the advantages of having a plumber who does not work by the hour. A plumber who works on a fixed price has no reason to stick around after the job is finished to ensure he gets paid more. Even if the job takes more time than required, you still pay the same amount.

check  Upfront, Exact Pricing – Every job we do has a set price shown in our price book. We go through with you exactly what the scope of the work will be to fix your problem and the costs involved. You know before we start what the final price will be -no surprises!

check  Rapid Response Times – Our highly efficient dispatch team will make sure our local plumbers are at your location as soon as possible. Under regular conditions, our plumbing technicians will arrive at your location within 24-hours. Service calls can take longer than expected and specialty parts may need to be ordered, which may push the wait times longer so we communicate ongoing.

check  Priority Calls – Emergency calls are our highest priority. We know they can quickly become a serious situation. You can place a priority call to ensure you are the next customer to be serviced. The technician will be at your location within 24 hours. All priority calls require a credit card upon calling.

check  Local Plumbers – There is no sense in calling a plumbing service that is in another city. We have plumbers in all major city centers across the GTA that can respond to your emergency when you need it.

check  Fully Loaded Work Trucks – A fully inventoried truck is crucial so that your problem can not only be diagnosed quickly, but fixed quickly as well. Even if the job requires a specialty part, we can have it ordered within 24 hours.
