Local Washer Dryer Repair Services
‘Last updated: January 19, 2017‘ Here’s some information about how your washer and dryer work and how to know if you may need local washer dryer repair service. Washers are electronically controlled. You put your clothes in, adjust to the setting you want, and turn on the machine. The program opens the water valves for hot and cold to fill up both the inner and outer drums. A thermostat measures the temperature of the water and adjusts it according to your setting. When the water is hot enough it sloshes the clothes back and forth in the soapy water. When the clothes are cleaned the program opens the valve to drain and turns on the pump to help empty the dirty water.
Clean water then enters the inner drum and rinses the clothes in a spin cycle several times to remove the soap. After the rinse cycle is complete, the clothes are spun around the inner drum at about 130 kilometers per hour to remove the rinse water. Next, the pump removes any access water and your clothes are clean!
When it’s time to dry your clothes your dryer utilizes a metal drum with paddles along the rim on the inside which rotate one way and then the other to prevent them from bunching up. From the air intake, cold air is drawn in while a fan powered by an electric motor sucks the air in which is passed over the heating element. As the air gets hot enough a thermostat turns the heating element on and off intermittently to prevent the dryer from overheating. Hot air is passed through the back of the dryer into the drum which drys your clothes while they are tumbling. A lint filter traps dust and particles as the air is leaving the dryer and some dryers will remove the moist air with an exhaust fan.
