Holiday Plumbing Tips

The holidays are here so when our kitchens and bathrooms are busiest it is important to ensure that a few best practices are followed in order to keep them in the best condition possible throughout the season. You can prevent a trip by our emergency plumber over to your house with the following helpful tips though should you need our assistance we are your neighbors and will be there for you day or night at the same affordable flat-rate price no matter what.

First, remember that during any type of plumbing emergency that the most important thing to do is turn off the main water supply valve followed by the local water valves whenever possible such as behind the toilet or under the kitchen sink as this will minimize the damage that is occurring to the premises. Also, remember that your garbage disposal is not there for everything there is to dispose of after a scrumptious holiday meal. There are certain items which will cause the machine to overheat or become damaged including asparagus and celery because they are very fibrous and these materials can wrap around the disposal blade and bring it to a full stop.

Other materials which could cause you garburator to stop working after a big holiday meal includes potato peels because they create a paste from the starchy materials which gums up the machine. Cooking oil, grease, and fat will restrict the water flow and eventually build up around the drain pipe as well as the disposal blade causing the device to work harder than it needs to. Rice or pasta shouldn’t be placed in the machine because they expand in water and this happens even when they are fully cooked so these materials can overfill the disposal chamber. Anything larger than fine fish bones such as chicken, turkey, pork, or beef bones should be thrown in the compost or garbage waste as well.

Besides taking care of your garbage disposal throughout the holiday season please know that our team of local plumbing specialists are on call 24-hours to make certain that any plumbing emergency you may have such as a sump pump failure, or a basement drain or toilet that is backed up with wastewater or sewage, or a frozen or burst pipe, you can truly depend on us for a fair price and a fast response. Our Plumbing Services

Some past clients we’ve had the opportunity to work for:

There are several plumbers out there. Many have experience. So why choose us over everyone else? Here are a few reasons:

check  No Hourly Charges – Many customers do not see the advantages of having a plumber who does not work by the hour. A plumber who works on a fixed price has no reason to stick around after the job is finished to ensure he gets paid more. Even if the job takes more time than required, you still pay the same amount.

check  Upfront, Exact Pricing – Every job we do has a set price shown in our price book. We go through with you exactly what the scope of the work will be to fix your problem and the costs involved. You know before we start what the final price will be – no surprises!

check  Rapid Response Times – Our highly efficient dispatch team will make sure our local plumbers are at your location as soon as possible. Under regular conditions, our plumbing technicians will arrive at your location within 24-hours. Service calls can take longer than expected and specialty parts may need to be ordered, which may push the wait times longer so we communicate ongoing.

check  Priority Calls – Emergency calls are our highest priority. We know they can quickly become a serious situation. You can place a priority call to ensure you are the next customer to be serviced. The technician will be at your location within 24-hours. All priority calls require a credit card upon calling.

check  Local Plumbers – There is no sense in calling a plumbing service that is in another city. We have plumbers in all major city centers across the GTA that can respond to your emergency when you need it.

check  Fully Loaded Work Trucks – A fully inventoried truck is crucial so that your problem can not only be diagnosed quickly, but fixed quickly as well. Even if the job requires a specialty part, we can have it ordered within 24-hours.
